Nowadays, fluency in foreign languages, especially in English-the international language, is always a students’ essential demand as well as a top qualification for most jobs. In order to help UEH students have a place to learn and practice their English skills, since 1995, following the helpings of The Student’s Union, Bell Club was established and has strongly developed.
BELL: Business English for Learners and Lovers
Established in 11/13/1995, since then Bell Club has always tried to maintain and develop its activities following the initial slogan:
“Walking side by side with you on the road to success”.
Bell Club now has more than 50 core members, 60 collaborators and nearly 600 card members.
- Objectives:
- To create a useful place for students who are interested in English and have an inquiring mind; thenceforth to help them have more chances to practice and improve their English skills.
- To offer many opportunities to students to practice and improve their vital soft-skills for their future jobs, such as: group-working skills, leader skills, MC skills, organization skills, etc.
- To create more chances for students being able to meet each other and make friends with many interesting people who have the same hobbies.
- To maintain and broaden Bell’s relationship with other clubs, both inside and outside, English centers and other social organizations, etc.
- Main activities:
- Maintaining Bell Club’s periodic activities:

- A periodic meeting on every Tuesday held at campus B for Bell Club’s core members and collaborators to announce important information as well as delegate to someone about many coming programs in the next few weeks. Moreover, it is also an opportunity for Bellers to get closer.
- Every 2 weeks, BE program - an Business English program is held for core members and collaborators only to provide them with necessary knowledge of some interesting majors in our university.
- Every 2 weeks, ESC - English Speaking Club, a Bell’s program is organized for all UEH students on Sunday at campus A.
- Holding a collaborator - recruitment program in each semester.

Frequently holding contests and seminars for students in our universities.

- Bell Club usually coordinates with some English centers and companies to hold some academic programs for students, such as: English contests of eloquence, online contests about economic - cultural – social topics, etc.

There are also other outstanding programs in this semester such as TOEIC seminar, TOEIC trial testing, “Interview skills” seminar, Essay contest, Friendly days, etc.

- Teaching English to poor children in orphanages.
- Broadening relationship with some other clubs and organizations outside our university.
Usually holding some outdoor programs with some clubs in other universities such as UTEC (an English Club of HCM University of Technology), English Club of Foreign Trade University, etc.
- Becoming volunteerers of some international competitions of Ho Chi Minh City’s Sport and Traveling Centre, such as: Judo, Vovinam…
- Creating relationship with other organizations such as YMCA, IYC, VYC, Viet A boarder, Peacework, EL, British Council, and Cambridge Esol to find scholarships for students in our universities.

- Having the honour to be the unique club in our university holding The Cultural Exchange programs with International Students’ Associations.
- Usually organizing the Cultural Exchange programs with some foreign universities which have relationships with UEH such as Woo song Korean university, US George Town, Victoria New Zealand university and specially SIT (School of International Training)… to create more relationships with foreign universities and also give valuable opportunities for UEH students to make friends with foreign students as well as know about their cultures, etc.
- Holding home-stay programs and City tours with foreign associations for Bellers.
- Teaching Vietnamese for foreign students at our university.
